Project background and customer requirements

As a leading energy central state-owned enterprise in China, China Huaneng Group needs a batch of high-performance couplings to promote the equipment upgrading and transformation projects of its 12 power generation enterprises, meeting the special requirements of high reliability and long-term operation of power equipment.

• Batch demand: A total of 750 couplings, to be delivered in batches within two months

• Performance requirements: Torque transmission range: 800-12000N·m, insulation resistance: ≥100MΩ

• Environmental adaptability: Resistant to temperature variations ranging from -25℃ to 80℃, moisture-proof and salt spray corrosion resistant

• Safety standards: Comply with GB/T 10095.1-2008 and DL/T 489-2010 power industry standards

Customized solutions

1. Specialized optimization design for power

In view of the characteristics of power generation equipment, the serpentine spring coupling adopts an insulating material isolation design to prevent shaft current damage. The drum gear coupling optimizes the tooth profile parameters, reducing the operating noise to below 85dB, meeting the noise reduction requirements of power plants.

2. Dual-track quality control

Establish a dedicated quality inspection process for power products, and add 1,000-hour fatigue tests and special insulation performance tests. Each product is accompanied by an electronic quality file, enabling full life cycle traceability.

3. Sub-station delivery plan

The delivery will be made in two batches based on the regional power station demand: the first batch of 400 pieces will be supplied to thermal power plants in the north, and the second batch of 350 pieces will be supplied to hydropower and wind farms in the south. We provide installation and calibration services as well as dedicated maintenance guidelines for the power industry.

Project outcome

All 750 couplings have been installed and debugged at various power stations of Huaneng Group. After 20 months of operation verification, the products have demonstrated outstanding stability on various power equipment, with the average mean time between failures exceeding 20,000 hours, providing a reliable guarantee for the safe production of power.
