Project background and customer requirements
As a globally leading coal producer, China Shenhua Group has initiated an upgrade and transformation project for underground and surface conveying equipment to enhance the mining and transportation efficiency of large coal mines in Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi and other regions. As a core component of the transmission system, couplings need to adapt to the harsh working conditions of much dust, high humidity and large torque in underground coal mines.

Customized solutions
Product customization and optimization
The serpentine spring coupling adopts high-strength alloy springs, and its surface undergoes double anti-corrosion treatment of phosphating and powder coating. The drum gear coupling is made of 20CrMnTi material, and the tooth surface is carburized and quenched (HRC58-62) to enhance wear resistance. Both products are equipped with dust-proof sealing rings to adapt to the dusty environment in coal mines.
2. Flexible production scheduling
Adopt a flexible production line to achieve parallel production of two types of couplings. Equipped with dedicated detection devices, 100% detection is conducted on key parameters such as the elastic coefficient of the serpentine spring and the accuracy of the tooth surface. Establish a product traceability system, with each product attached to a unique QR code to record production and inspection data.
3. Regional delivery plan
Delivery will be made in batches according to the demands of the mining areas: 300 pieces (200 serpentine springs + 100 drum-shaped teeth) will be delivered to the Inner Mongolia mining area in the first month, and 500 pieces (300 serpentine springs + 200 drum-shaped teeth) will be delivered to the Shaanxi mining area in the second month. We provide on-site installation and commissioning services to ensure precise matching with the existing equipment.

All 800 couplings have been installed, debugged and put into use in major coal mines of Shenhua Group. After 14 months of underground operation verification, the products have demonstrated excellent wear resistance and impact resistance. The average mean time between failures of the equipment has been extended to 2.3 times the original, effectively ensuring the continuity and safety of coal mine production.
