Flange couplings belong to rigid couplings, and their structure consists of two half couplings with flanges. During operation, the two half couplings are respectively connected to the two shafts through ordinary flat keys, and then the two half couplings are joined into one with bolts, thereby achieving the transmission of motion and torque. This type of coupling has a simple structure, is easy to manufacture and has a large load-bearing capacity. It is a commonly used rigid connection component in mechanical transmission.

Reamed hole bolt connection type

The alignment of the two shafts is achieved by using bolts for reaming holes, and the torque is transmitted through the compression and shear forces borne by the bolt rods. This structure features high alignment accuracy and good connection strength, making it suitable for transmission systems with high alignment requirements.

Convex shoulder groove positioning type

Alignment is achieved by the mating of the protruding shoulder on one half coupling with the groove on the other half coupling. The connecting bolts can adopt Class A and Class B common bolts, and the torque is transmitted through the frictional torque at the mating surfaces of the two half couplings.

Flange couplings, with their rigid connection characteristics and high load-bearing capacity, are widely used in transmission systems with low rotational speed, small impact and good alignment. They are a reliable choice for achieving shaft connection in industrial machinery.
