Tire couplings - Product Details

Product Overview

The tire body of the tire coupling is one of the necessary spare parts for the tire coupling, and it is correspondingly divided into UL, LA and LB tire bodies. Tire couplings are mainly divided into two categories: convex type and concave type. The convex type is further classified into three types: integral type with frame, integral type without frame and radial cut type.

Structure and working principle

  • The inner side of the tire ring is bonded to the steel frame by vulcanization, and nuts are welded to the bolt holes on the frame

  • When assembling, it is connected to the flanges of the two half couplings with bolts. The torque is transmitted by the frictional force generated between the tire and the flange end face by tightening the bolts

  • When the tire ring is in operation, it undergoes torsional shear deformation, so the tire coupling has very high elasticity

Product features and advantages

High elastic compensation capacity: It has a large ability to compensate for the relative displacement of the two shafts and can effectively deal with installation deviations

Excellent damping characteristics offer outstanding vibration reduction and buffering effects, effectively lowering equipment vibration and noise

Simple structure and elegant design, no lubrication required, reducing maintenance workload

Easy to install and maintain, convenient to assemble and disassemble, reducing the time cost of equipment maintenance

Limitations and installation precautions

Product limitations

  • The carrying capacity is relatively low

  • It has a relatively large external dimension and occupies a lot of space

  • As the relative torsion Angle between the two shafts increases, the shape of the tire is twisted, and the axial dimension slightly decreases

  • It will generate a large additional axial force on the two shafts, increasing the load on the bearings and reducing their service life

  • When operating at high speed, the outer edge of the tire expands outward due to the effect of centrifugal force, which will further increase the additional axial force

Installation suggestions

When installing couplings, measures should be taken to make the stress direction in the tires opposite to that generated during operation, so as to offset part of the additional axial force and improve the working conditions of the couplings and the two bearings.

Tire couplings, with their outstanding elasticity and compensation capabilities, perform exceptionally well in transmission systems that require vibration reduction and response to installation deviations. They are particularly suitable for use in mechanical equipment with medium loads and sensitive to vibration. Correct installation and use can effectively bring out its advantages and extend the service life of the equipment.
